Romania cruise to Wch bronze medals
Poland – Romania 22-31 (8-15)
The Polish women still have their first World Championship medal to come after they lost Sunday’s bronze medal place versus Romania with 31-22 after a Romanian half time lead of 15-8.
The Romanians were dominant right from the start as superstar Cristina Neagu scored three times in the first five minuted creating a 5-1 lead that the Poles never came anywhere near catching up.
The Romanians established a 10-4 lead before the Poles showed the strength that has lifted them among the top four teams in the tournament.
Romania and Neagu kept up their eminent performance in the second half, the Poles never got any closer than minus five goals and the Romanian world class player ended up scoring ten goals.
Romania won their fourth World Championship medal after lifting the trophy in 1962 and winning silver in 1973 and 2005.
Cristina Neagu was once again named player of the match.
